Gracie Bennett 2023

       Gracie Bennett is an educator, choreographer and performer native to Charlotte, NC. Bennett grew up in Gastonia, NC. She's received numerous awards and scholarships in her dance training, including The Broadway Dance Center and Break The Floor Productions. Ultimately, continuing her dance education at Winthrop University under the Dean's Meritorious Scholarship given by the Department of Theatre and Dance. She received her B.A. in Dance with a minor in Arts Management in 2022. 

    While training at Winthrop, she studied under multiple instructors from The Charlotte Ballet. Notably, under Lauren Skrabalak, the Artistic Director of Bodiography Contemporary Ballet. She also participated in the American College Dance Association (ACDA) Southeast Conference in 2022 and performed in the Informal Showcase under the instruction of Winthrop Professor, Kelly Ozust. 

     She also participated in numerous performances, and was chosen for choreographic opportunities. She led as Captain of the 2021 Rock Hill RockHettes, a precision dance team that performed at ChristmasVille in Rock Hill, SC. Bennett also received another scholarship in honor of her leadership role. 

After graduation, Gracie started performing as a freelance artist. Her solo pieces were featured at the Belmont End of Summer Intensive 2022, Loose Leaves Legacy in 2023 and BOOM 2023. She also led as Co-Director for Rock Hill Theatre's Production of Beauty and the Beast Jr. 

     Currently by day, Gracie is a Lead Teacher at Charlotte Jewish Preschool for older toddlers. She is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and was able to particpate in the 2023 National Conference.
